A Day at the Lake
We decided to take Lizzie to the lake yesterday to see if she was any braver with water than she was last summer. This time she actually went to the water instead of freaking out, pulling as hard as she possibly could on the leash and therefore choking herself, to get as far away as possible from any body of water. But alas, she still doesn't like water.
She liked it for awhile, as long as she was only ankle deep (do dogs have ankles?) But, as you can see, if we tried to take her out further she would try her hardest to get back to shore.
I eventually got her to go into the lake deep enough to see if she would swim. Sure enough, one time around me and then she put her fronts paws up on me hoping I would pick her up (as she does when there is something she is afraid of) and save her from the horrible lake. What dog doesn't like water? I think we need to trade her in for a new model. She won't be returning to the lake with us anytime soon.
This is how Ryleigh spent her day at the Lake. Hopefully when she gets a little bit older she will like the lake more than Lizzie does.

Thanks Auntie Ann...
for this great toy. I love to lay under it and watch the lights. It keeps me entertained for a long time!
Lizzie loves it too!
Maybe it's the licking me part she likes.

Lizzie Loves Ryleigh
Whenever Ryleigh is on the floor Lizzie has to be right there with her. It is stinking cute. When I first started putting Ryleigh on the floor I was watching Lizzie like a hawk because I was afraid she would step on her. But she somehow manages to step over or around her every time. Now I don't have to watch so closely anymore.

Park City
We had a nice weekend getaway in Park City. We did a lot of shopping, walking around downtown, swimming and we also hit Olympic Park. We met up with Devin's best friend Dallin and his fiance on Saturday and then Daren came and hung out with us on Sunday. It was nice to get out of town since it has been a while (I think February was the last time and that is very uncommon for us).
We discovered that Ryleigh is an excellent traveler. She did so well on the trip. She slept the majority of the time in the car and she was very content riding around in the stroller all weekend. Uncle Daren got this adorable picture of Ryleigh smiling away in her stroller.

2 Months
Ryleigh had her 2 month check up this morning which meant she got her first shots. No fun for baby or mom. She weighs 11 lbs 2 oz and is 22 1/2 inches long. She is growing just like she should be. I can't believe she is already 2 months old.
Ok, Nicole said I was a bad mother for not including a picture on this post. Here it is, just taken today. Yes, she is sucking her thumb and twirling her hair. She will no longer take a pacifier. Dad finally gave in and doesn't pull her thumb out of her mouth anymore. It is adorable now but wont be in the future. I don't know how we are going to break her of the thumb sucking when she gets older. Any ideas??

4th of July Weekend
We had a wonderful weekend with lots of family. We decided to bless Ryleigh on the 5th so we had a ton of family in town for that. My parents arrived on their motorcycle Thursday afternoon. On the 4th we went to a parade, had a BBQ and watched fireworks. All of Devin's family came in on Saturday night and we blessed Ryleigh on Sunday. Everyone then came over for dinner. Boy, was it a house full, but we had a good time.
Everyone ready for the parade
