Nice Weather in February?

We have been enjoying several weeks of warm weather this month.  We love it!

Sledding Disaster

We have been wanting to go up to Idaho City again this winter to do some sledding.  We finally found a free weekend at the beginning of February and headed up for the day.  We brought the grill and had some hot dogs before we hit the hill.  The girls were very impatient while we were grilling and getting lunch all ready.  They continued to be impatient while we got everyone dressed in their snow clothes.  Eventually, we headed over to the hill.
Bentley and Bailey got a ride over.

Bentley got to be pulled around while the girls sled down the hill.

Ryleigh went over and over.

Bailey made it down a few times

and even got the tube and herself back of the hill all on her own one time.

Devin got a few trips in

The girls went down once together.  I went down a few times with Bailey and then Bentley decided he was hungry and Bailey was done and wanted to go back to the car.  I went down one more time to race Ryleigh and I convinced her to go up the hill a little higher.

And that was the end of the sledding.  She felt as though she was going too fast, bailed off and got up crying.  She went over to Devin and he told her that her lip was bleeding a tiny bit.  You would have thought it was gushing blood with the screaming and crying that could be heard from the mountain tops.  I took her and Bentley back to the car to get tissue and an ice pack while Devin convinced Bailey to stay with him.  Ryleigh was crying uncontrollably over a few scrapes.  During the episode she needed to go potty so I walked her all the way over to the porta potty only to get there and her refuse to go in.  I drug her in and forced her on as she was screaming "I'm going to fall in, get me off" over and over at the top of her lungs.  At this point I had had it.  We were packing up and going home.  She didn't go potty and I told her I wasn't going to bring her back.  On the way back to the car, she slipped and fell on the ice which caused more tears than were already flowing.  Devin came back to the car soon after we did because Bailey was crying that she wanted mommy.  I got all of the kids out of there snow clothes and buckled in car seats while Devin headed back to the hill to get all of our stuff.  While loading up the car, surprise surprise, Ryleigh had to go potty.  I am pretty sure we only got a total of 20 minutes of sledding in.  It was a lot of work and took a lot of time to only sled for that long.  Next year we are going to go up earlier so the snow is softer with out a top layer of ice.  The parking area was a sheet of ice.

Just Like His Sisters

Bentley has gained a love of blankets just as his sisters do.

He is always trying to get Bailey's blankets and it drives her crazy.  She finally decided she didn't need to carry 2 around so she gave him her little pink blanket.  I tried several times to get a picture of him snuggling it but failed every time.  We decided it wouldn't be cool for him to carry a pink blanket around as he got older so we hid it and he has found a new favorite...

T\the blanket Grandma Larsen crocheted.  He sleeps with it and every time we take him out of the crib, he grabs it and then drags it all around with him.  Yep, he is licking the wall in this picture.

Bentley 6 and 7 Months

I haven't blogged in forever so here are a few random pictures of Bentley.

Ryleigh is a huge help with Bentley.  She was putting him in his jammies.

Bentley tried escaping his jammies.

Grandma Larsen got Bentley and Devin matching ties for Christmas.

Curly hair after the bath.

Go Aggies!

In the beginning of January we went to a Utah State/Boise State basketball game.  It was a great game.  The Aggies were up the entire game until a minute left of the game.  They won it in the last seconds of the game.  The kids did great and had a lot of fun.

Mover

Bentley became mobile the beginning of January right after he turned 7 months.  He has the army crawl down and still uses that method of transportation to this day.
