Camping Fun

We took our first camping trip of the season this weekend and had lots of fun. We went up by Ketchum, ID with some of our friends.

We played games,

went for a hike,

went to Red Fish Lake where there was still snow on the ground,

hung out by the campfire,

and relaxed and were kind of lazy.
Ryleigh didn't like her hands to get dirty. To prevent this from happening she crawled on the table,
stood as long as she possibly could,
or walked on her knees.
If she accidently fell and got dirt on her hands, she would hold them out to show me and then I would have to wipe them off.

Finally!

Since we have moved into our house, I have not liked a huge bush that was in front. It produced yellow flowers and was big and ugly. We decided this year to dig it out along with our other six bushes that were half dead and not our favorite either. We replaced them with some pots of flowers. It was a chore to get a few of them out, but Devin succeeded.

We still need Lizzie to bring us some rocks from the back to finish filling in where the big bush was.

I am pretty excited and hope that I can keep them alive.

Lizzie Proof Garden

Devin has wanted to grow tomatoes at our house but hasn't because of Lizzie being in the backyard. We decided we would give the topsy turvy a try this year. They also make a strawberry one so we are going to try growing tomatoes and strawberries off of the front fence this year. Wish us luck. This is what they look like now.

1st Tooth

I was finally able to get a picture of Ryleigh's first tooth. It broke through a few days before she turned one. It is still barely above the skin so look closely. It is on her bottom right.

Failing

Devin took Ryleigh for her 1 year check up on Monday. Not only did she have to get shots, the doctor told her she is failing. She lost 1 oz from her 9 month check up. She weighs a whole 16 lbs. 8 oz. That puts her in the bottom 1/3 on the growth chart. Hey, at least she is still on it right? Devin was pretty upset at the doctor. In his words "How can she fail? It's not like she was taking a test. We need a new doctor." Devin is not a fan at all of the growth charts. I think that is why he was so mad.

The doctor told us to make sure she drinks 36 oz of "the milk with the red lid" a day. Apparantly he thought Devin didn't know what whole milk was because he told him numerous times to get the milk with the red lid. Since then, we have given her nothing but milk to drink and we are lucky if she drinks 18 oz. We have to take her back in a month to see if she grew any. Wish her luck!

Happy 1st Birthday Ryleigh!

Her birthday isn't until tomorrow but we decided to celebrate today with friends and family since tomorrow is Mother's Day. We had a BBQ and the weather wasn't too bad considering what it has been like all week.

I made a lady bug cake. She was pretty excited when everybody started singing to her.

We also got a free cake from Albertson's so we let her have that whole cake. She dug right into the frosting when I set it in front of her.

She doesn't usually like to get her hands dirty. I thought she would freak out.

And this is as messy as she got. Not too shabby. None in the hair, no bath required after the event.
She was done after about 5 minutes and then wanted some ice cream.
Opening presents with Madison and Zachary's help.

The first thing she noticed when she opened Aunt Nicole's gift was the tag, not the adorable outfit.

Fuzz Anyone?

Ryleigh gets distracted sometimes while playing on the couch. She stops to pick some fuzz.

I have been told that I used to pick fuzz off of a blanket when I was little. Like mother like daughter I guess.
