Almost 8 Months

I can't believe how fast time flies. Ryleigh is almost 8 months old now. Dad had a little photo session with Ryleigh while we were there. He got some pretty cute shots. These were my two favorite.

She loved playing with this toy. Dad snapped this picture while he was watching her one morning. Very cute shot Dad!

Dance Dance Revolution

While we were at my parents' we busted out the playstation and played a few games. Mom and Dad were not too sure about the whole thing but they decided to give it a try. Mom loved it and had to do a song over and over again until she got better than a C on it. It was pretty entertaining. We threatened to put the video on my blog but Tana has that on her camera so I will just put the pictures.
We also played Rock Band, but somehow I didn't end up with any pictures.

Christmas

This year we made the trip to my parents' house in Montana for Christmas. We had horrible roads getting there but we are grateful we made the trip. Both of my younger sisters were there along with their husbands and my little niece Mariah. We had a great time.

Ryleigh and Mariah played well together minus the time Mariah came and sat on Ryleigh. She didn't like that too much.

They were supposed to be opening their Christmas pjs but they were more interested in each other than the gifts on their laps.

The babies sporting their new pjs

Mom sure loved having her two grandbabies spend Christmas with her.

Ryleigh got a learning purse from Santa.

Here is the plate Grandma made her.
Tana and Nathan live in Denver and had a few chances this summer to watch the Broncos practice. After practice they had numerous players autograph this football for us. We were pretty excited. It is a great addition for our Bronco room.

A Visit with Santa

We took Ryleigh to visit Santa and she wasn't too sure about him at first.
But it didn't take long for her to warm up to him.

Some videos of Ryleigh

Here is Ryleigh's attempt of crawling. As you can see at the end, she gives up and either rolls to her back or lays on her tummy and sucks her thumb.

In this one she is trying to get the camera until she is distracted by something else on the bed.

PS, this is what happens to the hair when dad is home with her and gives her a bath. He forgets to brush it. Oh sorry, he just informed me that he brushed it but after it dried.

Are We in Glendive?

I thought we weren't going to Mom and Dad's for another week and a half. Apparently our weather here has been preparing us for Glendive, MT. It has been in the single digits and teens all week. This is how Ryleigh prepares to go out along with a huge blanket over top.

Tub Time

Here are a few pictures from bath time. Ryleigh loves to play and splash in the bath.

She learned quickly that her tub toys hold water and that she can drink the bath water. Luckily they have little holes in the bottom so they don't hold water for very long.

Her new favorite thing is to try and reach the shampoo and body wash from the shelf.

She was watching me closely to see if I would tell her no.

Hand to Mouth Dilemma

Ryleigh picked up a piece of bread off of my dinner plate tonight. She pulled it into two pieces so that she had one in each hand. However, she couldn't figure out how to get the bread from her hand to her mouth. She would move her hand to her mouth and the bread wouldn't go in by itself so she would put her thumb in her mouth for a minute. Then she would try again. It was pretty entertaining.

I tried to load the video of it but it would not load. Sorry. A picture will have to do.

Hair Bow Drama

Ryleigh has learned that she always has a bow in her hair. However, she would rather it be in her mouth than on her head. She doesn't keep them in any longer. Shortly after I have put it in her hair she pulls it out and chews on it. I think her father has taught her this new trick because he doesn't like her to wear them. If I put it in with out her knowing it stays in a little bit longer, but not much. Stinkin' Dad!

P.S. in this picture her hair looks red, it is clearly not red.

Our Little Chicken

We dressed Ryleigh up as a chicken for her first Halloween. She wasn't too sure about it when we put it on her.

Then we got some smiles out of her.

We went Trunk or Treating with my brother and his family.

Daddy Daughter Time

Devin and Ryleigh just hanging out on Halloween.

And of course, Lizzie got jealous and had to get some attention too.
(Sorry, Lizzie is hard to see. We often call her camouflage)

Brave Lizzie!

Lizzie is becoming more and more brave with Ryleigh. This is how we find her now frequently. She loves to just lay her head in Ryleigh's lap. Ryleigh will pull and chew on her ears, pull her fur, pat her and Lizzie just lays there.

Jumperoo!

Ryleigh is now long enough to actually jump in her jumperoo. We put her in it a few times to play but she wasn't able to touch the floor. She discovered tonight that she can get one foot to touch the ground and jump. Ok, not even a foot, just some toes. I see many hours of entertainment coming her way!

GO BRONCOS!!

Ryleigh was up on the couch watching the Bronco game with us tonight. However, I think she was more interested in the remote than the game.

Play Time

Lizzie has to be right next to Ryleigh and she knows she isn't supposed to lay on Ryleigh's blanket. So, she has to have her blanket right next to Ryleigh's. As you can see, she tries to be sneaky and just lay partially on Ryleigh's to be as close as possible. Ryleigh loves it. In fact, she was on her back but rolled over to be closer to Lizzie.

Sometimes Lizzie gets jealous when we are playing with Ryleigh and not her. She wants to join in so she brings Ryleigh her toys for them to play with. Lizzie doesn't understand that Ryleigh is a little too young still to play with her.

I think we are going to have a little swimmer on our hands. Ryleigh sure wants to get places and thinks if she lays on her belly, puts her arms and legs straight out and gives a few kicks, that it will get her somewhere.

Pumpkin Patch

Ryleigh got to go to the pumpkin patch with Auntie Ann and pick her first pumpkin.

Happy Halloween!!

We went and visited Devin's family this weekend and Grammy gave Ryleigh her Halloween present, a glow in the dark outfit. She is set for the month of October. Thanks Grammy!

"What is This in My Mouth?"

We started feeding Ryleigh cereal last night and as you can see, she wasn't too sure about it.

She wouldn't swallow it but she wouldn't spit it out either. She let it sit in the front of her mouth with it wide open and soon the saliva had pooled up enough that the cereal just ran down her chin. It was pretty entertaining. This morning we had success. She loves it and chowed it right down.

Charlotte Has Been Found!

Those of you that have read Charlotte's Web thought she was dead. Not true. I think she is living on our porch. I went out to get the mail today and this is what I discovered.
(Click on the picture to see more detail)

I was pretty impressed by the web. However, no message was written in it. We'll see if she has one written before Devin gets home to destroy her and her web tonight. No way I am doing it. Yuck!

I Can Sit Up!

I was getting Ryleigh into her pjs tonight and sat her up to unbutton her shirt. I let go for a second and discovered that she can sit up on her own now. She did it several times but only lasts for about 30 seconds until she starts leaning forward. But none the less, she can sit up on her own.

She had her 4 month check up and shots on Monday. She gained a little over a pound from her 2 month check up. She now weighs 12 lbs 4 oz and is 24 in long.

Our Little Football Fan

I was trying to get Ryleigh dressed this morning. As you can see, she was way more interested in what was going on in the football game on tv than getting dressed for the day.

Ryleigh's First Camping Trip

We took Ryleigh on her first camping trip this weekend. We went with friends that live in Pocatello and met up with his uncle south of Twin Falls. Ryleigh did really well and we had a blast.

We played a few games of Croquet...

rode some 4 wheelers...

and hung out around camp and visited.

I volunteered for baby duty while the others went out 4 wheeling.

DUCK Day!

Duck football has officially began. Yes, we are all saddened by their performance last week against BSU:(

The Monkey Face

Ryleigh has started making some of the funniest faces. This is her monkey face. This is the best picture I could get. She does a much better monkey face but of course, not when I have the camera out.

Look How Big I am Getting

Let the Season Begin

Preseason football has begun and Dad already has Ryleigh roped into watching the games. From this picture it looks like she is more interested in Mom with the camera than in the football game.
