Spring Soccer Has Begun!

Ryleigh is super excited to play soccer again.  Devin opted to let someone else have a turn coaching but after the first game yesterday, wishes he would have coached.

She started this season the same as last, afraid to kick the ball.  The ball was at her feet numerous times but would back away and let someone else kick it.  With much encouragement from me, she was happy to report she kicked it twice the whole game.  Hopefully she gets over her fear quickly like last season and makes her team some goals.

The team we played was really good.  But they all had a good time.

Easter Outfits

Since General Conference is next weekend, the kids got to wear their new outfits to church today.

Spring Break

To start off our Spring Break, we headed down to Brigham City to spend the weekend with Grandma and Grandpa Larsen.  They took us to the Dinosaur Park in Ogden.

Ryleigh was pretty grossed out by this scene.

Their cousin Amaryah came along too!

She touched it before we read the sign that said please don't touch.

Don't eat the baby!

Inside they had a museum with fun things to do and see.

Then we came home and Auntie Ann invited us to go bowling and have a picnic by the creek.

Bailey insisted on doing it all her own.  It took her ball quite awhile to get to the pins.

Look at Zachary's form.

Go Madison!

Look at Ry's stance.

Brynley let her mom help a few times and then she wanted to do it all on her own.

"Mom, do I look cute?"

Too bad he doesn't keep them on for very long.

We also went to the park that afternoon.

Friday night we enjoyed two movies at the drive in with Uncle Travis and Auntie Ann.  Then they invited us to go hiking Saturday morning to Jump Creek Falls.

Ryleigh, Brynley, Madison, Bailey and Zachary found a little cove.

Bailey hitched a ride for her hike.

Ryleigh and Bailey

The falls were very pretty.

Devin and Lizzie hiked up a ways to get a better few.  Devin had to lift Lizzie up at one point because she got stuck.  Darn arthritis.

Family photo in front of the falls.  The lighting didn't turn out so great for some reason.

Lasso

The other night Bailey was using her blanket to lasso Bentley.  He was laughing hysterically.   It was so cute.

No worries, he didn't even cry.

Nice Weather in February?

We have been enjoying several weeks of warm weather this month.  We love it!

Our Cute Little Boy

Here are a few cute pictures of Bentley at 8 months

Sledding Disaster

We have been wanting to go up to Idaho City again this winter to do some sledding.  We finally found a free weekend at the beginning of February and headed up for the day.  We brought the grill and had some hot dogs before we hit the hill.  The girls were very impatient while we were grilling and getting lunch all ready.  They continued to be impatient while we got everyone dressed in their snow clothes.  Eventually, we headed over to the hill.
Bentley and Bailey got a ride over.

Bentley got to be pulled around while the girls sled down the hill.

Ryleigh went over and over.

Bailey made it down a few times

and even got the tube and herself back of the hill all on her own one time.

Devin got a few trips in

The girls went down once together.  I went down a few times with Bailey and then Bentley decided he was hungry and Bailey was done and wanted to go back to the car.  I went down one more time to race Ryleigh and I convinced her to go up the hill a little higher.

And that was the end of the sledding.  She felt as though she was going too fast, bailed off and got up crying.  She went over to Devin and he told her that her lip was bleeding a tiny bit.  You would have thought it was gushing blood with the screaming and crying that could be heard from the mountain tops.  I took her and Bentley back to the car to get tissue and an ice pack while Devin convinced Bailey to stay with him.  Ryleigh was crying uncontrollably over a few scrapes.  During the episode she needed to go potty so I walked her all the way over to the porta potty only to get there and her refuse to go in.  I drug her in and forced her on as she was screaming "I'm going to fall in, get me off" over and over at the top of her lungs.  At this point I had had it.  We were packing up and going home.  She didn't go potty and I told her I wasn't going to bring her back.  On the way back to the car, she slipped and fell on the ice which caused more tears than were already flowing.  Devin came back to the car soon after we did because Bailey was crying that she wanted mommy.  I got all of the kids out of there snow clothes and buckled in car seats while Devin headed back to the hill to get all of our stuff.  While loading up the car, surprise surprise, Ryleigh had to go potty.  I am pretty sure we only got a total of 20 minutes of sledding in.  It was a lot of work and took a lot of time to only sled for that long.  Next year we are going to go up earlier so the snow is softer with out a top layer of ice.  The parking area was a sheet of ice.
